From the air you will soak in a bird’s eye views of the Greater Brisbane region including the heritage city of Ipswich, Great Dividing Range mountains, Brisbane city skyline, Scenic Rim and Somerset countryside. We are proud to offer this unique opportunity to take in panoramic city and country sights. Others - Hot air ballooning is weather dependent and all passengers are asked to contact the supplier the night before the flight from 7-7:30pm for a weather report. - Wear comfortable clothing preferably in layers. - Please bring your camera, sunglasses,a hat, wear sturdy and closed shoes. Desc: From your hotel or i-Site we will make our way up to the Mount Victoria Lookout to see spectacular views of Wellington’s city and harbour. Have your cameras ready! On the way we drive up Courtenay Place, past the Embassy Picture Theatre which held two world premieres; The last LOTR instalment The Return of the King (2003), and the first Hobbit movie An Unexpected Journey (2012). From the Lookout we make our way down Mount Victoria to the Hobbiton Woods where the filming of his epic trilogy began. This is the home of the Shortcut to Mushrooms scene; Sam & Frodo’s Second Breakfast; the location where the Hobbits hid from the Black Rider (“Get off the Road!”); the Race to the Buckleberry Ferry scene; and King Théoden’s Dunharrow Encampment. Now we are off to the Weta Workshop in Miramar. Here you watch a short behind-the-scenes documentary that details the history of the Weta Workshop company, followed by an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour (entry included in your tour price) where you see how props plus weaponry are made and probably meet artists at work making props.(*) At the Weta Cave you will be given the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and have photos with Gollum, Lurtz the Uruk-hai, Bilbo’s three Trolls, and characters from other movies that Weta has been involved in. We will arrange for you to act and pose (photo shoot) with the trolls and other props. This is fun and enjoyed by everyone. The tour concludes with a drive around the bays where you will enjoy the delights of a ‘Rivendell Ripple’ to cap off your memorable tour. (*) Subject to Weta Workshop’s format. Desc: The morning tour is a journey of discovery designed to explore the history and sights as well as see how Aucklanders live and play. Travel up Queen Street, through Auckland's central business district, past the Auckland University and through the inner city park, known as the Domain. Continue on through the picturesque suburb of Ponsonby, with its historic buildings before heading over the Harbour Bridge to Auckland's North Shore. Stroll on one of our beautiful white sand beaches where there is time for a coffee before continuing up to the summit of Mt Victoria with its stunning panoramic views of Auckland City and historic Devonport. Then travel back over the Harbour Bridge to view Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere.
